Wow.  I am still in awe of all of your love and support.  In the past month we've raised more than $6000 for Mercy for Mamas, which totals more than 850 mama kits.  I am so excited to find new places to distribute them and to hear the stories of these women.  I can't wait to share with you how these simple gifts are giving them hope, relieving financial burdens, and saving lives.

Excited to receive her mama kit!

I am getting more and more opportunities to share about Mercy for Mamas.  I never thought speaking would be my gig, but I love sharing my heart and passion for this cause.  If you can get me to you, I'd love to share.

A couple of reminders, I'll be speaking two times next week in the Jackson, Mississippi area.  Join me next Thursday, May 24th at the Baptist Healthplex in Clinton from 7:30-9:00pm.  This women's event is hosted by Pinelake Church in Clinton, but is open to anyone.  Then if you aren't too busy at a beach or a lake next Sunday, May 27th, come see me at Park Place Baptist in Pearl.  I'll be talking to the women's group after the evening worship service (approx. 7pm).  This is also open to anyone.  I hope to see you there!!

Busy Weekend!

It was a busy weekend as many people chose to highlight Mercy for Mamas this past Mother's Day weekend.

First of all, on Friday, our second news story aired on KWCH.  Go here to watch or read it.  It was great, and the response to both stories has been fabulous.  We continue to get donations from people who watched the stories on TV or online.  It blows me away.

Some wonderful ladies in Austin, TX hosted a Mother's Day tea for their friends on Friday.  They talked about their trip to Uganda last summer and then shared information about Mercy for Mamas.  They collected enough money for 40 mama kits! Way to go Sara and Stephanie!!

On Saturday, I spoke at Northridge Friends Church.  My sweet friends Beth, Tina, and Melissa hosted a great event with some unbelievable sweets.  Yummy!!  We raised enough money for 75 mama kits!
What does it say about me that I only took pictures of the food?

These things were heavenly!!

Then on Sunday, two churches gave Mercy for Mamas donations in honor of all of the mothers in their congregation.  They shared our video with everyone.  Not only did the churches give donations, but afterwards they collected money for at least 115 more mama kits!!

A simple thank you cannot convey my emotions to you, but I am so grateful for each of you and your love and support.  Thank you on behalf of the mothers of Uganda.  Thank you on behalf of their children.  You are a blessing and together we are going to do great things!

** Edited on Thursday, May 10th... we are SOLD OUT of bracelets, but you can still make a donation!**

Mother's Day is in ONE WEEK, but don't worry, we have the perfect Mother's Day gifts for you to buy!

So far we've raised more than $2000 with our Mother's Day promotion.  Thank you so much!!  And it's not too late to place your order.  I'll be happy to ship a bracelet or donation card to you on Monday morning and it will get to you or your mama in plenty of time.
Here are your choices...

First up, you can simply make a donation to Mercy for Mamas in honor of your own mama (or woman you love!). We'll give you this beautiful card (snail mail or email) for you to give that explains the gift of life you have given to women in Uganda. You just fill in the number of kits you purchased in the woman's honor. Starting at just $7 this would be a great addition to another gift, or a gift in and of itself. To order a card and make your donation, simply send an email to with the amount of your desired donation. We'll send you a confirmation with all of the payment information.

We also have some amazing paper bead bracelets. I've updated the listings with the colors that I have left.  SOLD OUT!!!! The bracelets are handmade by women in Uganda from rolled strips of paper. Most of them were made by my friend, Robena. I love that by buying these bracelets you are helping to supply a job for Robena and her friends.

Each bracelet also includes a small charm that says "mercy for mamas". Every bracelet comes with a beautiful card that explains how their gift will help mamas in Uganda. Bracelets will also be gift wrapped and shipping is included. Bracelets are $15 each. Because all of the overhead costs for this project were donated, each bracelet purchased will provide two Mama Kits to women in Uganda.

To order a bracelet, email your order to Be sure to include the description of the color you'd like and a mailing address (if needed). We will then send you payment information. All orders ship after payment is received.

Keep it coming!!

Wow, I am continally blown away by God's provision and the support of this ministry.  We've already raised more than $1400 through our Mother's Day fundraiser.  I smile to myself each time I am packing up a bracelet and card.  I love to think about the 200 mamas in Uganda that will have a clean birth because of your generosity.  I love to think about your mom's smile as she thinks of your sweet gift this Mother's Day.

And it's not too late!  We still have plenty of time to get a bracelet to your mom for Mother's Day.  Or make a donation in her honor and we'll give you a great little card to give her.  Check out what bracelets are still available here.  Email your orders or donations to

Please keep sharing the story and mission of Mercy for Mamas.  People are learning about us because you are sharing on Facebook, blogging, and telling your friends.  As donations and orders come in I love trying to figure out how in the world people found out about us.  I'm mailing off bracelets from coast to coast.  Then I start thinking of the conversations about Mercy for Mamas that each bracelet will start and I start smiling again.

Want to hear about Mercy for Mamas in person?

Kansas peeps, come hear about our mission, the need, and how you can help on Saturday, May 12th at Northridge Friends Church in Wichita.  This should include eating some of Beth's amazing baked goods, so you don't want to miss it.

Mississippi friends, I'll be speaking at Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl on Sunday, May 27th after the evening service (approx. 7pm).  The rest of the fam will be there too and we'd love to see you!

And to all of the rest of you... if you can get me to you, I'll be happy to speak and share about my passion to help the women of Uganda.
